![]() FELINE Weekly News sheets offer quotations from authentic sources, on topics currently in the news, with appropriate exercises (and answers). There is a choice of items every week, graded for different levels, in French, German, and Spanish. As long as you have access to a single computer connected to the Internet, and can use it once a week for a few minutes, you can make full use of this part of the service. It is designed as a dissemination service of topical, up to date material. The Dernières Nouvelles / Aktuelle Nachrichten / Noticias index pages always list the current week's items at the top, with other recent items underneath. Display the items you want, print them out, and make whatever copies you wish, for teaching purposes in any classes being taught at your establishment. Grading of material / Exercise levels Within this section, three levels are used:-
An overview of exercise levels used in FELINE and FELINX! is available on a separate page. The type of exercise/exploitation provided is listed in the heading of each item, and will be appropriate to the level, and the material itself. Printing out materials Most items will (just) fit on one or two pages, when printed out from a Web browser. If you have problems fitting the essential material neatly on the page, you can try altering the margins allowed, so more (or less) will fit onto the paper. In Windows-based browsers, margin controls are usually found by selecting Page Setup from the File Menu. To fit more on, try reducing Top and Bottom margins first, and checking the result either by using a Print Preview option (if available) or doing a test print. Displaying the answers All items include answers. Usually, there is a button at the bottom of each item:- if you press it, the page will be re-displayed complete with the answers. If you have difficulty finding the answers, please check that Javascript (or ActiveX) is enabled in your browser (or get a local technical person to check for you!). FELINE and FELINX! both make extensive use of Javascript, and won't work very well unless you use a browser which supports it. (The FELINX! Help Section has more information.) When fresh material is loaded A new set of FELINE weekly materials (9 items in all) is loaded on Tuesday nights, ready for Wednesday morning. There are 36 weekly updates per year, on typical English term-time weeks. (Fresh FELINX! materials are added more frequently.) Return to Previous Page © Melchior Telematics, 1999 |
